2014 Hyundai Sonata
The 2014 Hyundai Sonata boasts a bunch of revisions – refreshed styling, a revised power output for the 2.4-liter engine and various sound-deadening measures for a quieter highway ride, then blind-spot monitoring system, xenon headlights and LED taillights.
Back in 2011, when the current-generation Sonata debuted, it sized up with its revolutionary design. 2014 Hyundai Sonata review trim levels
The 2014 Hyundai Sonata is available in 3 trim levels: GLS, SE and Limited. There’s also a Sonata Hybrid, which is reviewed separately.
2014 Sonata GLS standard equipment includes 16-inch alloy wheels, air-conditioning, heated mirrors, Hyundai’s BlueLink telematics system, a trip computer and a six-speaker sound system. Optional equipment for GLS package adds foglights, a driver’s blind-spot mirror, LED interior lighting, heated front seats, an eight-way power driver seat. A Driver Selectable Steering Mode (DSSM), which allows users to select from three settings—comfort, normal, and sport—and is now standard on all trim levels.
The Sonata SE starts with all of the GLS package and adds 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition and entry, a sport-tuned suspension, a dark chrome grille, a rear lip spoiler, dual chrome exhaust tips, foglights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters and leather/cloth upholstery. Optional for this model are a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 10-speaker audio system and a navigation system with an 8-inch touchscreen.
Limited editions of The 2014 Hyundai Sonata has all the mentioned equipment, adding 17-inch alloy wheels and has a softer state of tune for its suspension. It comes standard with full leather upholstery. The optional is Limited Technology package with a panoramic sunroof, xenon headlights, LED taillights, the 8-inch touchscreen display with navigation and a 12-speaker Infinity sound system.
2014 Hyundai Sonata engine
The 2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS is equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 190 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. Sonata SE with the same engine makes 192 hp and 245 Nm. It is packed sole with a six-speed automatic transmission. Time for sprint 0-100 km/h is about 8 seconds, which is pretty quick for a base-model family sedan. The 2014 Sonata have an estimated fuel economy rating of 8.4 l/100 km.
2014 Hyundai Sonata release date and price
The price tag for the base GLS has increased from 2013 model by $155 to $22,145; SE models start at $24,995; Limited models start at $27,695. From the sources, 2014 Hyundai Sonata models start trickling into dealerships this month.
