More than 50 years ago, Lincoln entered the market with luxurious vehicles that overtook buyers of import-brand cars. Now, Lincoln is trying to intense its entry-level luxury sedan class and the new 2014 Lincoln MKZ is their ace in the sleeve. Both traditional and modern features recovered, so its driving is similar to many other Lincoln models.
It is quiet on the road, which is thanks to suspention and noise canceling inside the car. Interior of the car is not packed well as its competitors, so it is a big shortage of this vehicle. 2014 Lincoln MKZ is far away from overtaking the market – its engine is not top of the class, interior in not even close to the most luxurious Lexus ES 350 and ES 300h hybrid, but improvement is promising.
2014 Lincoln MKZ engines
For the 2014 MKZ, from Lincoln were prepared three engine options: base one is 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 240 hp and 270 pound-feet of torque. 3.7-liter V6 produces 300 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both of them are paired with six-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is standard, while AWD is an option.
Ase model, 2.0-l sprints 0-100kmh in 7,2 sec, while 3,7-l is a bit faster with 6,7 sec needed to reach the same speed. Also, 2014 Lincoln MKZ stops from 100 km/h in 37 meters. At the end, we have a Hybrid 2.0-liter four-cylinder with an electric motor and 188 hp. 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid uses FWD.
2014 Lincoln MKZ body styles and interior
The 2014 Lincoln MKZ luxury sedan comes in two types –MKZ and MKZ Hybrid. Highlights of the modern look are split-winged grille and crashed metal that wraps tightly around the MKZ’s four doors. Standard for both models are 18-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, LED taillights, adaptive suspension dampers, keyless ignition/entry. All these make MKZ’s design very similar to the Ford Fusion.
Interior are different. Inside the vehicle you can find heated 10-way power front seats with power lumbar, dual-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. Futuristic style of the MKZ is made of center stack and console, with many buttons and knobs. Interior design is excellent, but materials used for details could be graded as economy-class. That makes dashsn doors and console not so attractive. Unlike its matrix, Ford Fusion, The 2014 MKZ has less interior space. Rear seat legroom is worth of mentioning and grading with excelence.
