2015 Audi TT
German carmaker company, Audi, is planning to expand its lineup from 49 to 60 cars. In those purpose, they invested 30 billion dollars. Few of investments are planned for expanding of the plants in Germany. Other share of money will go to the development of its vehicles and parts for it.
One of the cars that expect big change is 2015 Audi TT coupe. This will be the third generation of the car that will hit the market during this year already.
2015 Audi TT redesign
There is no official information about the 2015 Audi TT. There is no even too much details, but there is always some leaked information from trusted sources. It is expected that the 2015 Audi TT will be built on the MQB platform. This concept is also used by VW Golf and Audi A3. It offers very flexible chassis architecture. With MQB, we can expect longer and wider vehicle from the previous model. From the sportier stance overhangs will be shorter. Longer hood, flatter roof, and rounded tail are expected, so this vehicle will be very similar to another super car from Audi – the R8. Also, the new cost-effective platform will bring a lot of weight changes. Chassis will drop weight of the 2015 Audi TT for around 132 pounds.
2015 Audi TT engines
Earlier information reported that the new Audi TT will be packed with one of the few turbocharged engine options. In the mix were 1.8-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower; then there is 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 280 hp; this one is followed by turbodiesel 2.0-liter capable of producing 180 horsepower; and the last drivetrain could be 2.5-liter inline-five with up to 380 hp. Last engine will be used on the TT RS model, a bit more powerful and expensive than other models. The RS model will be made to compete with Porsche 911. However, all models will be offered as front- or all-wheel-drive.
After the coupe debuts in the middle of 2014, an Audi TT convertible is likely to follow few months later.
2015 Audi TT interior
Audi had unveiled the cabin of the new Audi TT at Consumer Electronics Show 2014 in Las Vegas. The Virtual Cockpit shown the restyled cabin. It brings new electronics interface, called the Multimedia Interface.
Changes are made on physical gauges, which are replaced by LCD panel. Navigation, telephone, radio, or media, all will be controlled from MMI dial.
