2015 Chevrolet Colorado
General Motors will enter the pickup market in 2015 with two new models – Silverado and Colorado. The 2015 Colorado will be produced exclusively for US market, while other one, Silverado model is made for global selling. Main difference between these two is exterior look. While Silverado is boxier, Colorado will have smooth lines. The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will be available in extended cab model with bed.
2015 Chevrolet Colorado engines
Under the hood of the new 2015 Chevy Colorado will be two options for buyers. GM has prepared 2.5-liter four-cylinder drivetrain as an option for base models. This one will be capable of producing 193 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Other option for 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will be more powerful, 3.6-liter V6 engine. This powertrain will make 302 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. In addition, it is expected that GM will add another option – all-new Duramax 2.8-liter turbodiesel which should increase capability of the 2015 Chevy Colorado. But, this one is still questionable. All engines will be mated to six-speed automatic with tow/haul mode, which are made to ease hauling and trailering. Maximum payload and trailering capacity of the new Colorado will be over 6,700 pounds.
2015 Chevrolet Colorado redesign
The 2015 Chevrolet Colorado was developed for the US buyers and it design will be distinctive, while it won’t lack in comfort and hi-tech features. Comparing to Silverado, 2015 Chevrolet Colorado will be 6 inches narrower, 18 inches shorter, 3 inches lower and almost 1,000 pounds lighter. What is new is that four-wheel disc brakes will be included in all models. Bed of the car will be offered in two lengths. Also, bed will be made from cold rolled steel both inside and outside. This vehicle is also more aerodynamic, with significant improvements in reducing the turbulence and air flows. The 2015 Chevy Colorado will have automatic grille shutters to help make the engine run more efficiently. Aluminum hood improves fuel economy.
2015 Chevrolet Colorado release date
Production of the new 2015 Chevy Colorado was announced to start with this year. However, market sales are not expected until the last quarter of the year. Price of the new Colorado is still unknown.
