2015 Ferrari California – Name
Little modification in the name of 2015 Ferrari California was a surprise for many enthusiasts. Also, many people asked what does it mean. It is simple – “T” stands for “turbocharged” and it is engine option in new vehicle. However, this name ring bells and remind us of Audi TT. New 2015 California will also be twin-turbocharged, but name California TT could sound funny to some. Only on “T” was used before and Ferrari decided to remind us to old times. Just for comparison, it is way better than to put California Turbo or the name they gave to other model “LaFerrari”.
2015 Ferrari California engine
The 2015 Ferrari California will be powered from 3.9-l V8 engine. Italian company official statement is this is 3.8-l engine, but the mill displaces 3855 cc, so it is closer to 3.9. Powertrain will be twin-turbo with direct injection, good for 560 hp and 557 pound-feet of torque. This is significant boost comparing to the old 4.3-l V8 outputs. New 2015 California gained 70 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. This vehicle will sprint to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, while top speed will be 196 mph. By removing turbo lag and Variable Boost Management system, vehicle reduced emissions by 20 percent and improved fuel economy by 15 percent.
2015 Ferrari California exterior
Engine will be highlight of the new Ferrari California, but design is also changed comparing to previous model. New car will be longer and lower, and new horizontal styling elements and diffuser will intensify appearance of aggressive and attractive car. However, experts are together in opinion that engineers made LaFerrari more stylish with sharper edges and by using gorgeous sheetmetal. But, 2015 California has simpler grille and hood vents which are probably the crown of engineers’ work.
