2015 Fiat 500

This small city car was designed Roberto Giolito and it presents modern reinterpretation of original Fiat 500 or “Nuova 500”, which was designed by Dante Giacosa and which was under production from 1957 to 1973. Although it was launched in 2007, it wasn’t available in U.S. before 2010. After several years on the market, new 2015 Fiat 500 will come as updated version and it will come with some novelties like new transmission (only for Abarth) and also some visual changes, mostly inside the car.

The 2015 Fiat 500 keeps the same characteristics as previous model, but with some minor updates. It is a 3-door small city car available in two body styles – hatchback and cabriolet. Visually, it looks same as previous model, but there are some changes inside. The main change in new Fiat 500 is new 7-inch TFT screen, which shows parameters like speed, fuel economy and other. Beside this change on dashboard, rest of interior design remains pretty much the same. However, you will find some new features like Bluetooth streaming audio, a new USB port and an extra cup holder in the center console. Just like previous models, 2015 Fiat 500 will be equipped with many safety features. There are seven airbags, ABS brakes, ESP (electronic stability program), ASR (antislip regulation) and other.

When it is about engine, there will be no changes for 2015 Fiat 500. This car is powered with 1.4 liter 16v Multiair engine, which produces 101 horsepower and 98 lb-ft. Same engine, but tuned up, is also used for Turbo and Abarth variants. For Turbo version, this engine produces 135 horses and 150 lb·ft of torque, while in Abarth variant it is tuned up to 160 horses and 170 lb-ft of torque. The only change under the hood of new Fiat 500 is that Abarth models will get 6-speed automatic gearbox, beside standard 5-speed manual.

It is expected that new model will keep the same price as last year model, which means that base model will cost around 17.000 dollars. The 2015 Fiat 500’s main competitors are models like Ford Fiesta, Mini Cooper, VW Beatle etc.
