2015 Ford Transit
Ford is presenting its all-new vehicle for US market. Long used Econline E-series full-size van is history now, since it will be replaced with European counterpart 2015 Ford Transit. It will be more economical, fuel-efficient and lighter van than its predecessor, so there is no doubt why US buyers will be pleased with such change.
2015 Ford Transit engine
Standard powertrain for 2015 Ford Transit will be 3.7-l V6. This engine will be capable to deliver 266 hp. Additional drivetrain will be turbocharged EcoBoost V6 with output of 320 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. New van from Ford will also be available in diesel version. The 3.2-l turbodiesel engine will deliver 346 lb-ft of torque and will have best balance between performance and fuel consumption. There are few engine options, but all of them will be mated to a 6-speed auto transmission system. Rear-wheel drive will be standard.
2015 Ford Transit redesign
The 2015 Ford Transit will accommodate up to 15 passengers. This van will be available with different lengths of wheelbase and heights of roof. Also, due to use of new materials, van will be lighter from previous version of E-series Econline for around 300 pounds. New Transit will also top its fuel economy by 25 percent. Outlook will be new for all buyers of previous van. The 2015 Transit has different shapes and curves which were well known on the E-series. Big windshield and soft corners on the front end could be seen at first sight, with high-roof styling. New Transit will have changed cargo area and access will be much easier. Also, Transit will perform excellent both in city drive or on highway.
2015 Ford Transit production and price
The new 2015 Transit will be built in US plants in Ford’s factories in Kansas City. This van will face competition in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Nissan NV. One of the greatest advantages of the Transit will be its wide choice of customization options. Price of the 2015 Ford Transit will depend of trim level picked, but since early information, all models will be placed between $30.000 and $40.000.
