Two engine options will be under the hood of the 2015 Elantra. As a standard powertrain for SE and Limited sedan modles it will be 1.8-l four-cylinder engine capable to deliver 145 hp and 130 lb-ft of torque. Standard transmission will be 6-speed manual, while buyers of Limited models could pick automatic. Sport and coupe versions will be powered from 2.0-l 4-cylinder drivetrain rated at 173 hp. Same six-speed gearbox will be mate to this new engine, manual will be standard and automatic available for some models. Estimated fuel economy for 1.8-l engine will be 31 mpg combined and for 2.0-l 28mpg.
