2015 Mercedes-Benz GL
Originally launched in 2006, this full-size luxury SUV is company’s flagship model, which stands above all other SUV models. So far, we have seen two generations of this model. Current generation was launched in 2012 and it seems that it will undergo some minor changes next year model, while new generation is expected to be launched probably in 2017. The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL will come with changes, which will be only visual, while mechanical things will remain unchanged.
2015 Mercedes-Benz GL redesign
The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL is a full-size SUV which has three rows of seats and can accommodate 7-passengers. New model will get some design changes in order stay fresh until new generation come in next few years. Most of the changes will be in front. New Mercedes-Benz GL will get new grille, restyled front bumper and slightly redesigned headlamps. Rest of the car will remain pretty much the same. Interior will also get some updates. Instrument panel is covered with a camouflage and it is probably because new display, which should be the main change inside. New display will probably be the same one that can be found in other Mercedes-Benz new models.
2015 Mercedes-Benz GL engines
As we said, except some visual changes, 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL will remain pretty much the same. So, engines will be the same as for the last year model. There is 3.0 liter V6 diesel BlueTEC engine which delivers 256 horses 457 lb-ft of torque. There will be also two petrol engines for 2015 GL. The base one is 4.7 liter V8 BlueEFFICIENCY that has an output of 429 horses and 516 lb-ft of torque. The most powerful engine is reserved for AMG variant. It is a 5.5 liter twin-turbo V8 that has a max power of 549 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of max torque. The 2015 GL uses 7-speed automatic transmission, while AMG variant is equipped with AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic gearbox.
2015 Mercedes-Benz GL release date and price
New refreshed model is expected to be presented this October on Paris Motor Show or maybe on Detroit Auto Show in January next year. The price of 2015 Mercedes-Benz GL is expected to remain in the same range as it was for previous-year models.
