2015 VW Passat engines

For the engine lineup of the  2015 VW Passat we can expect diesel or hybrid options. As MQB platform is shared with Golf, also is the engine – the new twin-turbo 2.0 TDI diesel that produces well over 200bhp and plenty of torque. If this is true, the 2015 VW Passat will come with 4MOTION four-wheel drive only. Other option is a 3.0-litre VR6 twin-turbo engine, also used by the CrossBlue Coupe, with over 400 hp and AWD. This powertrain is possible to be tuned with hybrid system. It is more probable that plug-in hybrid will mix 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine with a lithium-ion battery pack. This combination shoud  give 150 mpg fuel economy and emissions of less than 60g/km, which is better of the new Mazda 6 and expected Ford Mondeo.
