2016 BMW 3 series

BMW 3 Series is a compact luxury car, which originally came 1975. So far, we have seen six generations. It is probably the company’s most important model because it BMW’s best-selling model, accounting for around 30% of the annual total sales. Current, sixth generation, known as F30, came in 2012 and it will be refreshed for the next-year model. The testing model has been spotted already for a few times and beside some visual updates, it will also feature several significant mechanical improvements. The 2016 BMW 3 Series is expected to come later this year.

As you probably known, Bavarian car manufacturer usually doesn’t make big visual changes in mid-cycle period. The 2016 BMW 3 Series will be no exception. The testing model has been spotted and on the spy photos you can notice that there are not too many areas covered, which indicated only minor updates. On the front end, bumper is expected to suffer some modifications. It will get more aggressive shape and will feature larger air intakes. Rear end will also feature restyled bumper but it expected that taillights will be modified too. Rest of the 2016 BMW 3 Series is expected to remain pretty much unchanged.

You might say that visual changes are far from spectacular but on the other side, 2016 3 Series comes with crucial changes under the hood. It seems that we are going to see three new engines in next-year model. The 328i model is going to be replaced by 330i, which will be powered by new 4-cylinder engine which outputs of 270 horses, which is 30 more than current one. The 335i will be replaced by 340i, which will be powered by brand-new six-cylinder engine with max output of 330 horses, which is also 30 horsepower more. Finally, the base 320i model comes with new engine too. It will be the same engine that is used for Mini Cooper S, which generates 192 hp, which means 12 ponies more than current 320i. All these engines will be paired either with 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission.

2016 BMW 3 Series release date and price

Although these details are still unknown, it is expected that 2016 BMW 3 Series will come in the second half of 2015 with only some small differences in price.
