2016 BMW X6

When this luxury mid-size crossover came in 2008, it was known from the first moment that this model will be loved by the crowd. This vehicle was very well accepted not only in North America, but also in Europe and Russian and Chinese market. After seven years of production of original model, it is time for some changes. The 2016 BMW X6 will come as all-new, second-generation model and it will bring many improvements in many aspects. Beside visual improvement, it will come with many new things under the hood like improved engines and new transmission.

New 2016 BMW X6 is based on new BMW’s monocoque platform, which is also used for new BMW X5. Thanks to new platform, new model will be much lighter, which will improve car’s overall performances. Beside new, more attractive look, which will now be more unique and less X5-based, 2016 X6 will be much more sophisticated thanks to implementation of many new hi-tech technologies. New model will get new axle assemblies, also used in new 5 Series, which will provide some additional weight savings. Thanks to new platform, 2016 BMW X6 will have much more space inside, which was probably the biggest problem with original model. The cabin will be completely redesigned it will get many new hi-tech features.

Many engines will be in offer for 2016 BMW X6. Beside the base 3.0 liter twin turbo engine, new model will be also available with 3.0 liter turbocharged diesel engine and 3.0 liter tri-turbo V6 engine. 4.4 liter V8 petrol engine will be also available, both for standard and M variant. All these engines will be coupled with new BMW’s eight-speed automatic transmission. Bavarian car maker also develops plug in variant of this luxury crossover. The 2016 BMW X6 ActiveHybrid will be powered with the combination of 3.0 liter petrol engine and electric motor, which will use the power from lithium-ion battery positioned within the floor of the boot. However, we still don’t know when this hybrid variant will be available. It is for sure that it won’t come with 2016 year model, so we expect to see it year or two later.
