2016 Chrysler 300
Chrysler 300 was launched in 2005. Current model is in its second generation and it seems that it will stay for one more year. Second generation was introduced in 2010 and all indicated that 2016 Chrysler 300 will come as all-new, third-generation model. However, company recently announced that release of new model will be delayed for year or two so we will see it as 2017 or 2018 year model. The production of current model will be continued for one more year, which basically means that you shouldn’t expect anything special from 2016 Chrysler 300.
2016 Chrysler 300 details
The company will offer 2016 Chrysler 300 with some novelties for sure, in order to make it competitive until next-generation model come. Of course you should not expect any significant improvement from 2016 year model. Those changes will probably mean some new colors and maybe new-designed rims. Some minor design tweaks are also possible, but chance for that is very small because this model was already refreshed last year. All in all, it will be the same vehicle as last-year model. When it is about mechanical part of a car, things will remain unchanged. Like previous-year model, it will be available with V6 and V8 engine.
Base model use 3.6 liter Pentastar engine, which outputs around 300 horses and 260 lb-ft of max torque. Of course, for all those who want excellent performances, 2016 Chrysler 300 will be also offered with 5.7 liter V8 Hemi which outputs around 360 hp and 390 lb-ft. It will be also offered in SRT8 variant. This version uses 392 Hemi V8 engine, which is able to output 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of twist. All engines will be paired with either 5-speed automatic or 8-speed 8HP45 automatic transmission. New Chrysler 300 will be available both in RWD and AWD variants.
2016 Chrysler 300 release date, price and competition
For now, there is no information about launch date of 2016 Chrysler 300, but it is expected that it won’t come before second half of next year. Price changes are not expected. This sedan has plenty of competitors. On the one side, there are American models like Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Impala and Buick Lacrosse, while on the other side there are Asian models like Toyota Avalon, Hyundai Genesis and Nissan Maxima.
