2016 Ford Focus RS

Ford Focus originally came in Europe in 1999, while launch for North American market was one year later. This compact car instantly became one of the most popular models in its class. Current model is in its third generation and we expect to see new, fourth-generation model in near future. However, before we see new-generation model, Ford will launch an all-new, high performance variant of this compact car and it will come as 2016 Ford Focus RS.

2016 Ford Focus RS spied

This new high-performance model has been spied for the first time on race track in Nurburgring and then later in Green Hell. This testing mule is still almost completely camouflaged, so it is hard to tell anything about its look. However, it is expected that 2016 Ford Focus RS will follow the lines of current third-generation model, but also to feature plenty of unique details. It will probably get new bumpers, new rear spoiler, bigger and new-designed wheels and many other details which will boost up its sporty appearance. The only thing that isn’t covered and could be easily noticed is exhaust system. Unlike current high-performance ST model, new one will have come with separate tips placed toward the sides.

Since this is a hi-performance model, it is for sure that it will have special treatment when it is about engine. The exact unit is still unknown, but we expect that 2016 Ford Focus RS will be powered with new 2.3 liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine, same that powers new Mustang. However, it will be probably tuned up for this occasion to around 350 horses. There are speculations that 2016 Focus RS will have AWD. However, we noticed that testing mule has font wheel layout, so you should take this rumor with big reserve.
