2016 Ford Fusion
As one of the most important models for the company, it seem logical that 2016 Ford Fusion will come with several improvements, in order to stay competitive on the market where are plenty of great models such as Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, VW Passat, Mazda 6 etc. Current generation model came in 2011 as 2012 year model it completely followed company’s new design language, which was earlier presented on Focus and Fiesta. However, it seems that after few years this model needs better look, so exterior and interior changes will be main point for this mid-cycle refresh. On the other side, engine lineup is expected to remain unchanged.
2016 Ford Fusion design changes
The 2016 Ford Fusion will come with many changes, when it is about design. Testing model has been spotted and although it is still camouflaged, it is pretty much for sure that most of the changes will be made on at the front. New model will get new front fascia in company’s new styling, while rear end will also undergo some changes in order to follow design of the front. The 2016 Fusion will also come with some changes on the side parts. Expect to see new front-door styling, which will come without small quarter windows. When it is about interior, modifications will be even bigger. It is rumored that new model will come with completely redesigned which will, beside new styling, also feature better-quality materials. Control board will be also redesigned. The 2016 Ford Fusion will come with new Blackberry’s QNX infotainment system instead of current Microsoft SYNC.
2016 Ford Fusion powertrain
It is pretty much for sure that 2016 Ford Fusion will come with the same engines in offer. There will be two Duratec and three EcoBoost petrol engines in offer. When it is about hybrid model, it will feature same configuration that came in 2011, which includes lithium-ion instead of nickel-metal hydride batteries. Transmission also should remain the same. Petrol models are offered with either manual or automatic 6-speed transmission, while hybrid uses Ford’s HF35. However there are rumors that 2016 Fusion could come with new 9-speed automatic transmission, which company develops together with GM.
2016 Ford Fusion release date and price
The exact date of launch is still unknown, but 2016 Ford Fusion will come by the end of 2015 for sure. Price is expected to remain unchanged, so base model should go around 23.000 dollars.
