2016 GMC Terrain

This mid-size SUV originally came in 2009 as replacement for Pontiac Torrent. After six years of production, it was planned original model to be replaced with new one. However, company changed plans and decided not to launch redesigned model before 2018. The 2016 GMC Terrain won’t come as new, but only as refreshed model. Even those changes will not be so large. According to the latest reports, there will be only some visual modifications, while mechanical part of the car is expected to remain pretty much unchanged.

The 2016 Terrain will come with some changes, in order to stay attractive for potential buyers for some more time. However, there will be no changes in body style. Only visual changes that are expected are some new color options, maybe new-designed wheels and probably some minor, barely notable cosmetic tweaks in some areas. Rest of the car remains unchanged.

When it is about interior, 2016 Terrain will also feature only minor changes. There will be some new equipment packages, which will include some additional standard features, while the styling of the cabin will remain the same. When it is about mechanical part of the car, there won’t be any changes at all. In this aspect, new GMC Terrain will have the same characteristics like its Chevy relative called Equinox.

The 2016 GMC Terrain will continue to be offered in two engine variants. The base model will be powered by 2.4 liter EcoTech engine that has an output of 182 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. The other option is a 3.6 liter High Feature LFX V6 engine, which is good for 301 hp and 272 lb-ft of max torque. Both engines are paired with 6-speed automatic transmission. The base model has fuel consumption around 22 in city and 32mpg on highway, while V6 model has much lower ratings – around 16 in city and 23 mpg in highway drive.

The 2016 GMC Terrain is expected to come late this year. This mid-size luxury SUV goes around 37.000 dollars for the base four-cylinder version.
