2016 Mazda 6

Although this name appeared in 2002, history of this model begins in 1987, when 626 was enlarged from compact to a mid-size sedan. If we count only model under the Mazda 6 name, there are three generations of it so far. Current model was launched in 2013 and after few years of existence, it seems that company wants to give some minor refreshment in order to keep, for now, great sales results. While things under the hood will remain unchanged, 2016 Mazda 6 will feature many updates both in exterior and interior design.

Current model came in 2013. It features company’s new KODO Soul of Motion design language. After few year of production we are going to see some modifications. The 2016 Mazda 6 comes with several changes and most of them are, naturally, on the front end. There is new lighting, which included new LED layout and reshaped turn signals. There is also a new grille, which now features six horizontal slats instead of five. On the rear end only notable change is revamped taillights cluster. The interior comes with even bigger changes. The dashboard comes revisited and features new 7-inch display, reshaped air vents etc. The 2016 Mazda 6 also comes with new gear shifter and with modified instrument cluster, which features new graphics. There are also some new or update hi-tech feature such as Active Driving Display, Mazda Connect with Internet connectivity and the i-Activesense safety package.

When it is about engines, 2016 Mazda 6 will come without changes. It will be powered by the same 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine, which has maximum output of 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of max torque. Both 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmissions are available. The new Mazda 6 will go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds, while fuel consumption should be 26 mpg in the city and 38 on a highway.

There are plenty of models in this segment, but models that are seen as main rivals are Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. The price will go from 21.000 dollars for the base model to over 30.000 dollars for the best-equipped models.
