2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class redesign
Just like previous models, 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will take the place between C and S-class. However, it will be larger than current model, in order to distance itself from C-Class more. The testing mule was spotted recently and for now, it is still hard to say something more about its look, because it is completely camouflaged. However, some features are visible beside its camo. The 2016 Mercedes E-Class will share many design solutions from C and S-Class. It will have similar grille, similar lighting etc. It will also get more rounded roof and shorter front and rear overhangs. New platform is ready for new model. It is a new rear-wheel-drive MRA platform, which will make new Mercedes-Benz E-Class a little bit longer, but on the other side significantly lighter, because of use of lightweight materials such as aluminum etc. This new platform will also provide more space inside new model.
2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class engines
The 2016 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be offered in many variants, when it is about powertrain. There will be several petrol and diesel engines available, but there will be also a hybrid model in offer. It is expected that 2016 Mercedes E-Class hybrid will be powered by same system as C300 BlueTec Hybrid, which uses a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine and an electric motor. One more big novelty is a new twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine, which will be used for new E63 variant.
