2016 Porsche Macan
This is an all-new compact luxury crossover that finally came last year. Development begun in 2010 and it was finally presented at both 2013 New York and Tokyo Auto Shows, while European version came in 2014. Although this model is present for a short time, company already plans some novelties that will come with next-year model. The 2016 Porsche Macan will come with diesel engine and some additional technical modifications, while visual appearance will remain pretty much the same.
2016 Porsche Macan redesign
This luxury crossover is closely related to Audi Q5. The wheelbase and suspension configuration are the same but on the other side, suspension, engines and, what is the most notable, exterior and interior are different. The exterior features recognizable Porsche look. The 2016 Macan will be largely influenced by bigger Cayenne but there are also some details borrowed from 911. Interior look could be considered as a combination of 911 Carrera and 918 Spider.
The 2016 Porsche Macan features power seats, navigation, panoramic glass roof, rear camera, touch screen multimedia etc. The most interesting part of the crossover’s interior is center console board. On the one side, there is a seven-inch touchscreen that operates all multimedia functions, while on the other side there are plenty of classic buttons (around 30) for other controls. Along with 918-style steering wheel, this combination of touchscreen and buttons definitely gives a unique feel. This crossover also features Porsche Stability Management (PSM).
2016 Porsche Macan engine
Beside current 3.0 and 3.6 liter V6 Turbo petrol units, 2016 Porsche Macan will be also available in diesel variant. It will be powered with 3.0 liter V6 engine, paired with 7-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. This model will have around 260 horses and 428 lb-ft of torque so it definitely won’t suffer in terms of speed and agility. It will go from 0 to 60 about 6 seconds but what is also important, it will have better fuel economy, probably somewhere around 24 mpg in city and 31 mpg on highway. For the European market, there is also a four-cylinder gasoline engine in offer, which creates 237 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
2016 Porsche Macan release date and price
The exact date of launch is still unknown, but it is expected that 2016 Porsche Macan will come in the middle of this year. Price will go in a wide range, probably between 50.000 and 75.000 dollars.
