2016 RAM 1500
Full-size are extremely popular in North America, so it isn’t surprise that competition is nowadays tougher than ever. GM recently launched their new-generation models Silverado and Sierra, while on the other side Ford will launch all-new aluminum-body F-150. However, Dodge RAM is still leader in this segment. This full-size truck was originally launched in 1981 and company plans to introduce next-generation model, which will probably come in 2017. Meanwhile, we will see a refreshed version of current model, which will come next year as 2016 RAM 1500. This updated model will come with many changes and most of them will be visual, both outside and inside the truck.
2016 RAM 1500 redesign
The 2016 1500 will come with many design modifications. Exterior will be updated with several changes and most of them will be on the front end. New model will get new front fascia, which will include new grille, modified headlights and new bumper. Rear end will also undergo some modifications. The 2016 RAM 1500 will get new tailgate, which can open horizontally too. In addition to the traditional up-and-down motion, new tailgate will be also able to open like a pair of barn doors. Interior will suffer some changes too. Beside some design tweaks, 2016 RAM 1500 will also get new seats which folds totally flat into the floor, some additional storage and also an updated UConnect Access infotainment system.
2016 RAM 1500 engine
When it is about engines, things will probably remain unchanged. The base option will be powered by 3.6 Pentastar V6 engine, which outputs 305 horses and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 Dodge RAM 1500 will be also available in diesel variant. This model will use 3.0 liter EcoDiesel V6 engine, which is good for 240 horses and 420 lb-ft of max torque. Of course, there will be a V8 version too, which will be powered by 5.7 Hemi V8 engine, which outputs 395 horses and 410 lb-ft of max torque.
2016 RAM 1500 release date and price
The refreshed 2016 RAM 1500 will probably come next summer. Price is expected to remain in same range as current model, which starts around 25.000 and goes up to 49.000 dollars.
