2016 Scion FR-S
The Scion FR-S is a grand tourer sports coupe, which was jointly developed by Subaru and Toyota. It is also known as Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ. All three models share pretty much the same characteristics and while Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ are offered worldwide, Scion FR-S is offered exclusively in North America. It came originally in early 2012 and its name is derived from the description of the platform, F – front engine, R – rear wheel drive and S – sport. According to the latest reports, it is expected that 2016 Scion FR-S will come with some refreshments, which will mostly be visual nature.

Although some modifications are expected, the basic characteristics of the car will remain unchanged. The 2016 Scion FR-S will be a very well balanced sports car with rear-wheel drive and mounted boxer engine. The main changes will be on the cars visual appearance. New model will come with basically same look, but with several modifications, which will make it more aggressive and more attractive. The most of the changes will be on the front end, so expect some tweaks on the areas such as grille, headlights or bumper. When it is about interior, some small modifications are also expected. The 2016 FR-S will feature black interior with black patterned dash trim. There will be advanced features like leather and Alcantara heated seats, automatic HVAC controls, touchscreen with navigation, a push-button start etc.

Things under the hood are likely to remain unchanged. The 2016 Scion FR-S will be powered by the same 2.0 liter Boxer engine, which has maximum output of 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of max torque. However, this engine could be slightly boosted up, so 2016 FR-S could come with some additional power. Current model has great performances – it goes from 0 to 60 in about 6 seconds, ¼ mile time is around 14.7 seconds, while top speed is over 145 mph.

Although there is no official information about release date, it is expected that 2016 Scion FR-S will come this fall. Price is expected to remain pretty much unchanged, which means around 26.000 dollars for the base model.
