2016 Skoda Superb
The Superb is a large family car produced by Czech manufacturer Skoda. It was originally launched in 2001. There have been two generations so far and both models were based on VW Passat. Finally, the third generation was presented in Geneva recently and it is expected to come this summer as 2016 Skoda Superb. Just like previous two generations, it will share many characteristics with VW Passat such as chassis, engines etc. New model comes completely redesigned, with new look, new interior and many new technical solutions.
2016 Skoda Superb redesign
The 2016 Skoda Superb comes completely redesigned. It is based on the Volkswagen’s MQB platform and it features bigger dimensions and also longer wheelbase. When it is about exterior look, it comes with big changes, which makes it more aggressive and more attractive looking. Many design solutions are already seen some other model such as new Octavia, which came in 2013. The 2016 Skoda Superb will feature company’s recognizable front end which includes new grille, more angular headlights, short front overhangs and lower nose. Rear end also comes with some big changes.
Compared to previous, new model features more muscular shoulders and coupe-like roofline. When it is about interior, we won’t see anything radically changed. New model continues in same style and changes are mainly evolutional nature. However, it is easy to notice that 2016 Skoda Super made nice step forward when it is about quality of materials, although we must say that previous model was also on the very high level in this segment. There will be also many new high-tech features such as, for example, new infotainment system which can be controlled by rear passengers also and which is which is compatible with AppleCar Play, wireless smartphone charging etc.
2016 Skoda Superb engine and release date
The 2016 Skoda Superb will feature several engines in offer. When it is about petrol units, there are 1.4 liter engine with 148 hp, 2.0 liter Turbo with 276 horses. On the other side, there will be three diesel variants in offer. The 2.0 liter engine will be available in variants with 148 and 187 horsepower. Third variant is a 1.6 liter GreenLine engine emitting just 96g/km of CO2. The 2016 Skoda Superb is expected to come this summer.
