2016 Toyota Fortuner redesign

Like the original, the redesigned 2016 Toyota Fortuner will be based on the Hilux model. New model will ride on Toyota New Global Architecture or TNGA platform, which is used for new Hilux pickup. Most of the mechanical characteristics will be shared with this pick up, but also with models like Innova and 4Runner. The basics of this model are expected to remain pretty much the same. It will be a four-door mid-size SUV with front engine and RWD layout. On the other side, exterior look will be completely redesigned. At this point, it is still unknown what exact engines will be used for 2016 Toyota Fortuner. Current model features wide range of engines in offer and some of those will carry on, while some will definitely go in history. Our predictions are that 2.7 liter petrol and 2.5 and 3.0 liter diesel engines will remain, while rest won’t. Current 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic will probably be replaced.
