2017 Ford F-150
New F-series are using new platform which will be base for many new cars from same company. However, upcoming models of F-150 pick-p truck are based on redesigned 2015 vehicle. So, for 2017 Ford F-150 we doubt in major changes. It was told earlier that company is going to work on off-road capabilities, so it could be interesting to see what will Ford offer for new F-150 and could it be found exciting by users. One thing is sure, all upcoming F-150 trucks will use a lot of aluminum on their body panels, so weight drop and mileage boost is certain. 2017 Ford F-150 engine
Current engine, a 6.2-liter V8 will be replaced with brand new 3.5-l EcoBoost V6. It could seem that is a downgrade, but Ford plans to develop new engine, second generation of 3.5-l EcoBoost units for 2017 Ford F-150 and many other trucks. First generation has already been deployed by many vehicles, but upcoming models get refreshed powertrain, and probably stronger. Experts predict around 410 hp and close to 450 lb-ft of torque. This is large upgrade from current outputs of 365 and 420. New, dual exhaust tips are lunges of this EcoBoost unit. Engineers believe new transmission system will be done for 2015 F-150, which could additionally boost MPG rate.
2017 Ford F-150 features
Features connected to performance are going to be widely refreshed. Form new 4-wheel drive to all-terrain management modes, 2017 Ford F-150 will be significantly changed. A clutch-driven, on-demand all-wheel-drive system features mechanical-locking four-wheel drive. Terrain management allows you to adjust ABS, stability, traction and many other systems. There will be few modes available. For street drive, new 2017 F-150 uses Street mode. Weather mode is used for rain, and Mud mode for muddy terrains. Same is with Sand mode, while for desert run, new F-150 has Baja mode. Last one is Rock mode, for crossing rocky terrains.
