2017 Lexus SC
When Lexus LF-LC concept car was presented on 2012 Detroit Auto Show, it made a huge impact both on crowd and critics. Everyone was absolutely delighted with this car and started impatiently to wait its serial production. However, it didn’t happen in next two years and many of us thought that it will end only on concept. Fortunately, it seems that production of this concept will be materialized through new 2017 Lexus SC, which will come as third-generation model after six or seven years of brake. This model was discontinued in 2010 so expect comeback in great style.
2017 Lexus SC specs
Like its predecessors, 2017 Lexus SC will be a grand tourer. According to the reports, it will be heavily influenced by LF-LC concept, which means that it will get new lightweight platform. The most of the car’s body will be made of extra lightweight materials such as aluminum and carbon fiber, so 2017 SC will definitely have excellent performances, probably even better than RC-F Coupe. When it is about cars look, it will definitely keep aggressive, aerodynamic and muscular appearance of LF-LC, but it will implement some newer solutions from models such as RC-F and it will also feature many unique details. Headlights and taillights will be slightly modified (in RC-style), while the same spindle grille will remain on 2017 SC.
2017 Lexus SC engine
When it is about engines, as far as we know, 2017 Lexus SC will be offered in two variants. The base model will be powered by 5.0 liter V8, same that can be found in RC-F Coupe. Paired with company’s new 10-speed automatic transmission, it will output around 475 horsepower. New model will be also offered in hybrid variant. Although we still don’t have exact information, we expect that it will be company’s well-known and proven V6-based configuration. This combination of petrol and electric units is expected to have total output of around 500 horses.
2017 Lexus SC release date and competition
At this moment, we can only rely on some predictions that say that 2017 Lexus SC will come in early 2017. Competitors will be models like BMW 6-Series, Jaguar XJ, Mercedes Benz E-Class Coupe etc.
