It is still under production, but it made through one significant update which was done for 2012 year model. 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom specs
The 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom is now in advanced phase of development. Company’s engineers started with test drives, so testing model has been spotted already for several times. The mule was spotted outside BMW technical center in Germany and although it still wears a heavy camouflage, we can see same of details that will characterize next generation of this luxury car. It is expected that new model will come with new powertrain, especially if we consider that test mule features two new intakes at the front, which are backed up the makeshift exhaust system fitted to the car, at the rear. Alongside standard V12 unit, it is also very possible that we will see a hybrid configuration too, especially if we consider that rivals such as Bentley, also plan to introduce new hybrid vehicles. It is expected that 2018 Rolls Royce Phantom will use BMW’s new rear-wheel-drive platform, debuting in the 2016 BMW 7-Series.
The whole body structure will be made of light materials, such as aluminum or carbon fiber, so new model will be significantly lighter compared to current, which weights around 5.600 pounds. When it’s about cars look, we expect that 2018 Phantom will continue in the same way, featuring same design language, mostly evolutional changes, instead of some radical ones. New model will keep its conventional, but also extremely stylish and elegant look. On the other side, interior is completely unknown for now. At this point, most of the parts are borrowed from BMW 7 Series, but they are used only for testing and won’t be found in production model.
