Lamborghini Cabrera

The most interesting thing about all new cars from Italian supercar manufacturer is which one will replace famous Gallardo. Since announce of end of production, after ten fruitful years, experts, enthusiasts and fans expect its successor. Among few names, two are favorites, Lamborghini Cabrera and Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4. Both of these have been spotted in street testing and according to pictures, Cabrera is closer to take the spot Gallardo opened with its withdrawal.

Lamborghini Cabrera redesign

From spy shots and other witness stories, we can have sketch of what could we expect from Lamborghini Cabrera. It is obvious that new sportcar is lower than Gallardo. Edges will be changed, but impression is similar. Cabrera’s appearance is attractive and strong, like it was with Gallardo. Also, looks like that successor will be longer and wider comparing to outgoing car. Some details look familiar, especially Y shapes in the headlights which could be seen on the Lamborghini Aventador. Difference is that Aventador has only one Y-shape in each headlamp and Cabrera has two of them. Rear end of the car gets completely new look. New, slim taillights dominate in design with quad exhaust pipe setup. However, many changes are still possible for this car, with continuation of development.

It is still unknown what will be under the hood of the new Lamborghini Cabrera. From what we are seeing in other new vehicles from Italian carmaker, we can expect V10 or V12 engine, and their 5.2-l drivetrain. Same was used by Gallardo. We expect that Cabrera will be capable to deliver around 600 hp. While engine options are unknown, it is certain that power will be sent through newly developed  seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This is another difference from Lamborghini Aventador, which uses heavily criticized ISR transmission.

Lamborghini Cabrera release date

Debut of the Gallardo’s successor, 2015 Lamborghini Cabrera, is expected during second half of the 2014. However, it comes probably as 2015 year model. This is another unconfirmed information, because company spokesmen are quiet over this model. It will compete with new generation of Audi R8 which is about to be launched after Cabrera.
