VW Golf 7 Variant

New Golf 7 (for which Volkswagen has so far received more than 100,000 orders) has so far been available as a hatchback 3 and 5 door, and from now its offer is supplement by wagon version – VW Golf 7 Variant. Depending on the market on which will be sell, the VW Golf 7 Variant will most likely be known as the next generation of the Golf Wagon, Golf Estate or Jetta SportWagen.

The VW Golf 7 Variant is much lighter than its predecessor, about 105 kg, despite being located on longer wheelbase with a length of 2.636 mm compared to 2578 mm for the previous generation. Wagon version is 307 mm longer than the hatchback version, with a total length of 4562 mm. Cargo space dimensions are 1054 mm length, or 1831 mm when the rear seats are lowered. Total space available to the user is 605L when the seats are in place, and 1620L when the seats are lowered.

VW Golf 7 Variant is offered with two engine family EA211 EA288 gasoline and turbodiesel units, with all engines are equipped with a start / stop system that improves fuel economy by 4% and the battery regeneration regime that would reduce CO2 emissions by about 3%. EA211 turbocharged gasoline direct-injection engines are available with 85, 105, 90, 122 and 140 hp, while diesels EA2888 TDI are available with 105, 110 and 150hp. Also it should be later this year available version with 4Motion – all wheel drive.

Wagon version stand out even more sharp lines, further distancing itself from its predecessor. On the other hand, the rear light clusters clearly indicate that it is a new member of the family from Wolfsburg. “Golf VII Variant” is got a massive bumper flat – sharp lines, which contributes to the robust appearance of the whole car.

Volkswagen has also prepared and Golf Variant TDI BlueMotion, which in combination with the standard six-speed manual transmission has an average fuel consumption of just 3.3 l/100 km (71.28 mpg) and CO2 emissions of only 87 grams per kilometer.
